Algavitec / Alga

"As Algavitec's waves take to strange lands so too they bring me home"
-Tysyazar prayer

Form and Powers

Typical temple relief depicting Algavitec, as well as a 'Wayfinder Rhizome'

Algavitec's full form has never been seen. It is akin to a massive hybrid of arthropod and fungus. Its hyphae slowly grow out through higher dimensional space and form openings to different places. One can travel 'through' Algavitec itself from point to point.
It has a large "aperture" shell embedded into the cliffs near the holy island of Tengebokotverstiye. Through this aperture it has on rare occasions shown its "face", and interacted with its followers.
Algavitec is the only (currently known) worshipped being that did not originate on Earth. It seems it may have never bothered to fully learn how (on the rare occasions it ever did) communicate with humans. Algavitec's teachings were all translated through 'oracles' who could somewhat understand its speech. These oracles were likely those with some innate Thaumaturgical skills.

Generalized Dogma and Practices

Adherents usually identify as being "of Alga".

Algavitec's dogma is sparse and vague, and it is open to a great deal of interpretation. It did not interact with its worshippers often. The monks espouse this as a positive aspect however; Algavitec's teaches are broad enough to be universal to people of any background. Algavitec implored its people to seek out their own path, and this message applies to all aspects, even how one understands its holy words should be specific to the individual.

Algavitec is credited as leading the original Tysyazar to the archipelago. Tengebokotverstiye was the first island colonized according to the myths.

Many Alga prayers and chants are done if possible in a throat singing style, as it is the closest way a human could approximate the sound of Algavitec's speech.

A right of passage for many Tysyazar is a trip to visit the temples at Tengebokotverstiye. Those brave enough will go on a spiritual journey by traveling through Algavitec. Eventually one will find their way out of various exits, experience different far off places and cultures. In this way one will find the place they are meant to be.

Many priests are Krasynz due to the common superstition that their red hair is the result of some closeness to outside forces, and therefore, closeness to understanding Algavitec.

Sects

Alga lacks any official distinct sects, there has never been a dogmatic schism large enough to create one, likely since the religion itself is rather spare on dogma to argue over. There are rituals and prayers that are unique to various islands but neither their practicioners or the priests on Tengebokotverstiye would say that this makes them different or heretical.
